Egyptian actress Lqa Al-Khameesi addressed recent turmoil surrounding her husband, former Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Abdel Monsef, and reports of his marriage to and subsequent divorce from Iman Al-Zaidi. Al-Khameesi expressed shock at how the situation unfolded and the impact it had on her family.

“We were a private family, keeping to ourselves, and no one knew anything about us, but that privacy was suddenly taken away because of a marriage intended to teach us a lesson,” Al-Khameesi said during an appearance on the program Mirror.

She added, “I felt like I was struck in the face. The other party thought they could destroy my home, but I don’t destroy my own home… Dignity doesn’t diminish when you protect your home, your children, and their future.”

Al-Khameesi recently quelled speculation about a separation from Abdel Monsef following news of his marriage to and subsequent divorce from Al-Zaidi, which circulated on social media. She had remained silent on the matter until now.

She posted a video on her official Instagram account featuring herself, Abdel Monsef, and their children, signaling that reports of a split were untrue. Al-Khameesi also sent a message to all women to protect their homes and families.

“Life is always testing us, with days that create us happy and days that distance us, sadden us, and hurt us… and we find ourselves lost,” Al-Khameesi wrote alongside the video.

She continued, “No one is perfect, but true strength lies in admitting mistakes and returning to the right path. God has opened the door to forgiveness and grace. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who supported me, stood by me, and comforted me, and thank you to my close friends who stood by me and to all my social media friends who filled my life with love and comforted my heart with a kind word.”

Al-Khameesi concluded, “The easiest thing in the world is to destroy a well-established home, and the strongest thing is to protect our lives and fight for our homes and children with love and peace. We all make mistakes, regret them, and return to the right path… and start anew with passion, love, peace, and contentment.”

She finished with a message to all women: “Every wife and homemaker, protect your home and family with all your strength and don’t give anyone the opportunity to destroy the family home. I love you all from the bottom of my heart, my friends and my big family.”
