TRNAVA, Slovakia – Lucie Havlíčková continues her dominant run at the ITF Trnava tournament, extending her winning streak to ten matches. The 20-year-old Czech player secured a commanding 6:1, 6:2 victory over Jelena Malygina of Estonia on Friday, building on her title win earlier this week.

Malygina – Havlíčková 1:6, 2:6

Havlíčková began the week with a win over Katherine Sebov. She then battled through a tight match against Yuriko Miyazaki on Thursday, but conserved energy in her quarterfinal matchup against Malygina.

This victory marks her tenth consecutive win in the last twelve days, following a quick transition from Billie Jean King Cup qualifying action in Croatia. The young Czech needed just an hour and fifteen minutes to dispatch her opponent, a player originally from Russia now representing Estonia.

Havlíčková started the match by dropping her serve in a lengthy opening game, but quickly responded with a remarkable run of ten consecutive games, surging to a 6:1, 4:0 lead. While Malygina briefly held serve twice, she was unable to disrupt Havlíčková’s momentum.

Havlíčková, who returned to competition in June after overcoming health and psychological challenges, is poised to re-enter the Top 300 of the WTA rankings. The indoor conditions in Trnava clearly suit her game, having previously claimed titles in the city in 2023 and just last week.

Now, she’s within reach of her fourth final of the year and the ninth of her professional career. She will face 18-year-old Belgian prospect Jeline Vandromme in Saturday’s semifinal.
