Galician actor Luis Tosar is generating buzz for his upcoming film, Golpes, set to hit theaters on December 5. The movie, produced by Vaca Films in collaboration with Grupo Tranquilo and Playtime, is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases to close out the year.
Directed by Rafael Cobos, who co-wrote the screenplay with Fernando Navarro, Golpes boasts a stellar cast. Tosar plays Sabino, a police officer poised to leave a lasting impression on audiences.
Luis Tosar’s Hilarious Visit to La Revuelta
Tosar recently appeared on La Revuelta to promote Golpes, and the interview quickly took a playful turn. The actor immediately showcased his comedic side, even gifting host David Broncano a pair of the film’s signature underwear, which Broncano promptly tried on live on air.
The program was filled with lighthearted moments, including a surreal bit where the green of the underwear was used as a chroma key to project the face of Antonio Resines, much to the delight of the audience.
In another memorable segment, Tosar playfully mimed running with scissors and delivered a tongue-in-cheek message, characteristic of his Galician wit: “It can be done, mothers of the world, you’ve been lying to us for decades.” He quickly clarified with a disclaimer: “Kids of the world, don’t run with scissors in your hand. This is a message from Spanish public television.”
Tosar also discussed the filming process, which was marked by persistent rain in Seville. “It rained practically the entire shoot,” he shared with a laugh, jokingly suggesting it might have been due to the large number of Galician crew members.
The actor emphasized the importance of supporting films during their opening weekend: “This weekend, just focus on Golpes.” When asked about his personal life, Tosar remained tight-lipped about finances but admitted his romantic relationships had “broken the average.”
Before leaving RTVE, Broncano attempted to speak in Galician, prompting laughter from Tosar due to his less-than-perfect pronunciation. This led Tosar to express his deep connection to his homeland, stating, “It’s difficult to get Galicia out of your heart.”
About Golpes
Migueli (Jesús Carroza) re-emerges in 1980s Spain, a country undergoing rapid change as he attempts to rebuild his life. However, before moving forward, he needs to settle some outstanding debts, requiring a substantial amount of money.
Back in Seville, he reunites with his former crew and embarks on a series of heists, targeting banks, jewelry stores, and even a casino.
The situation becomes complicated when the investigation falls into the hands of Sabino (Luis Tosar), his own brother and a police officer who is intimately familiar with his tactics. The film promises a thrilling blend of action and family drama, adding to the excitement surrounding Spanish cinema’s growing international presence.
