The Swedish Allsvenskan season recently concluded, but Malmö FF’s competitive campaign continues. However, they face a tough test on the road tonight against a confident Premier League side.
Malmö FF is coming off a disappointing Allsvenskan season, despite finishing with a win – a less-than-convincing performance against Gais. The team conceded several clear-cut chances in the match, appearing rusty and lacking sharpness. Interim manager Anes Mravac, who is set to join Middlesbrough to assist Kim Hellberg, said ahead of tonight’s match:
“We must be prepared for a physical match, we need to be patient when they have possession and pressure us. But we also need to take care of the ball when we have it. We go into the game with respect, but we also believe in ourselves. There is no other option, we must do our best and try.”
Mravac continued:
“We are really happy to have both AC and Erik Botheim back in the squad. They have trained well for two weeks and are ready for short appearances.”
