Malmö FF has secured the signing of dynamic forward Vesna Milivojevic, bolstering their attack with a player who has quickly risen through the ranks in both Australia and Europe. Milivojevic joins MFF on a three-year contract, arriving from Swedish side IFK Norrköping, where she spent the last two seasons.

Milivojevic’s football journey began at Bankstown City in her hometown of Sydney, Australia. She then progressed to the Australian top-flight with Western Sydney Wanderers, using that experience as a springboard to launch her European career with Serbian powerhouse Spartak Subotica.

During her time in Serbia, Milivojevic enjoyed significant team success, winning a league title and competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. A stint with Borussia Bocholt in Germany followed before she returned to Australia to play for Canberra United. It was from Canberra United that she was recruited by IFK Norrköping ahead of the 2024 season.

The 22-year-old has established herself as a key player in the OBOS Damallsvenskan, consistently demonstrating a strong work ethic and impressive offensive capabilities. Her performances have also earned her a place as a regular member of the Serbian national team.

Born in Australia to Serbian parents, Milivojevic chose to represent Serbia on the international stage. She started in every match of this year’s Nations League campaign, helping Serbia win their group and qualify for the tournament’s A-division. This qualification highlights Serbia’s growing presence in international women’s football.

Now, Milivojevic arrives in Malmö with a contract that runs through 2028. “Vesna is a player we have been following for a long time,” said Maxim Khalil, assistant sport chief. “She was very important during her time at IFK Norrköping and in Australia before that. She is a versatile, intense, and hard-working player who can handle many different positions. Primarily as a winger and attacking midfielder, but she can also drop back and play in midfield.”

Khalil continued, “She is a player who will increase competition and contribute with intensity, physicality, and aggressiveness, which will be important for us going forward. She also has a mentality where everything is about winning, and that will fit very well into Malmö FF’s identity.”

Vesna Milivojevic:

“I know how big and respected this club is. To be here is a privilege. I also feel that the values align with mine. The club’s mentality and high standards reflect me,” Milivojevic stated.

“As a player, I would say that I am creative and unpredictable. I like to create things in the offensive third and break down defenses. At the same time, I work very hard on the pitch. I really give everything for the team.”
