Defying critics, the 80-year-old proves she’s anything but “frozen in time,” as some have suggested. She’s been actively promoting her 26th album in recent months, featuring fresh takes on her biggest hits with a new generation of artists. Rodowicz collaborated with Krzysztof Zalewski, Igor Herbut, and Ralph Kaminski, among others. A duet with Roksana Węgiel also stood out, offering a revitalized version of the classic “Damą być,” which dominated Polish radio stations in the fall of 2024. This collaboration highlights the enduring appeal of Rodowicz’s music across generations.
The performer behind the hit “Niech żyje bal” (Let the Ball Live On) clearly cherishes her collaboration with Węgiel, who is 60 years her junior. In a recent Instagram post, Rodowicz reminisced about the day they filmed the music video together. The behind-the-scenes photo shows Maryla and Roksana posing in front of a green screen, surrounded by colorful props and… a pile of bananas. Both artists sported black, oversized blazers paired with black tights and chunky-soled boots.
It’s noticeable that Rodowicz utilized Photoshop to subtly smooth her complexion. But who could blame her?
