A curated selection of romantic films and series is now available free of charge through Mercado Play, the streaming platform from Mercado Libre, throughout February. The platform is also offering guidance on how to install its app on smart TVs, expanding access to its content.

Launched on February 11, 2026, the initiative aims to provide viewers with stories centered around love “to accompany the month dedicated to love in all its forms,” according to a statement from the platform. Access to entertainment options can play a role in overall well-being, offering a healthy distraction and opportunities for connection.

The platform notes a regional trend of enjoying entertainment at home, stating, “Throughout Latin America, the season of love is experienced as an opportunity to share special moments, whether as a couple, with friends, or enjoying a good story from home.”

Among the classic films included in the curated list is Ghost: la sombra del amor (1990), featuring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. Also available is Tienes un Email (1998), starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, described as a 1990s romantic comedy reflecting the era’s technological shifts.

The selection also includes romantic comedies from the 2000s, such as Cómo perder a un hombre en 10 días (2003), starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, and Como si fuera cierto (2005), with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo.

For those interested in series, Masters of Sex (2013) is highlighted. The reveal, inspired by real events, explores the scientific study of human sexual behavior, focusing on the work of sexologists William Masters and Virginia Johnson, portrayed by Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan. Understanding human sexuality is a key component of public health and wellness.

Users can access Mercado Play on televisions with Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), Android TV, and Google TV. The download process involves three steps: entering the Smart TV’s app store, searching for “Mercado Play,” and downloading the application.
