Morocco is bracing for a cold weekend with potential for frost and localized showers, according to the latest forecast released by the General Directorate of Meteorology.

Coastal areas along the Atlantic will see low clouds and foggy conditions developing Saturday morning. A significant temperature drop is expected across much of the country, with overnight and early morning frosts anticipated in mountainous regions, the southeast, the Oriental region, and the eastern highlands.

Later Saturday, denser cloud cover will move into the Tangier region and the Gharb plains, bringing scattered showers overnight. Strong winds are also forecast along the central and southern coasts.

Low temperatures are predicted to range between -4 and -0.4°C in the Atlas Mountains, the Rif region, and the eastern highlands. Southern provinces and the central part of the country will see lows between 10 and 16°C, while temperatures elsewhere will hover between 6 and 10°C.

Daytime temperatures are expected to rise in the south, but remain steady or decrease in other areas. The Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the waters between Cap Spartel and Larache are expected to be calm to slightly choppy, while conditions elsewhere will be choppy to agitated.
