Miss Jamaica Hospitalized in ICU After Miss Universe Fall

Miss Jamaica, Dr.Gabrielle Henry, remains hospitalized in intensive care following a fall during the preliminary competition of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand on Tuesday, November 19th.The 28-year-old physician’s condition is more serious than initially reported, according to a statement released Friday by the Miss Universe Jamaica Association, prompting concern from fans and fellow contestants alike. Family members, including Henry’s sister and mother, are currently with her in Thailand as medical personnel continue to monitor her condition at Paolo Rangsit hospital.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization released a statement Friday, November 22nd, revealing that Henry’s condition is more serious than initially reported. The news comes as a shock to fans following the on-stage incident.

“This is an official update regarding the medical condition of Dr. Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Henry, who remains hospitalized in Thailand. Her sister, Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, who is currently in Thailand with their mother, Maureen Henry, advised the organization of the latest developments,” the statement read.

“Gabby is not doing as well as we had hoped, but the hospital continues to provide her with the appropriate care,” her sister told the organization.

According to the Miss Jamaica report, Henry will need to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for at least seven days, as doctors continue to closely monitor and provide specialized attention.

The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization is asking for prayers for Henry’s recovery and requesting privacy and respect during her hospitalization. The incident has prompted an outpouring of support from fans worldwide.

“During this profoundly difficult time, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization earnestly asks Jamaicans at home and throughout the diaspora to continue keeping Gabrielle in their prayers. We also encourage friends, supporters, and well-wishers around the globe to join us in lifting her up in love, strength, and hope.”

“We respectfully request that the public and social media users refrain from sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that could cause further distress to the family. Our primary focus remains Gabrielle’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We kindly request continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period,” the organization stated.

The fall occurred on November 19th during the evening gown portion of the Miss Universe 2025 preliminary competition.

While walking the runway, Henry stepped off the stage and fell. Lights immediately went down as Raúl Rocha and Nawat Itsaragrisil rushed to assist the 28-year-old model, who was unable to get to her feet.

Medical personnel then entered and began providing immediate first aid. Henry was subsequently placed on a stretcher and transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand, where she was initially reported to be in stable condition as of November 20th.
