Syrian actor Motasem Al-Nahar revealed he faced significant challenges throughout his career, stating he didn’t receive the support he’d hoped for and instead experienced opposition from within the entertainment industry.

“I was hoping for more support from people from my country and my colleagues,” Al-Nahar said during an appearance on the “Tafa’alukum” program. “I didn’t find the support, and I was fought against in many places, by people from my country and fellow artists. I expected better support and more assistance, and others were supported… and they didn’t depart me alone.”

He noted that these experiences deeply affected him, but also gave him greater strength to persevere and prove himself, affirming that true success comes after overcoming obstacles. The actor’s comments reflect a broader conversation about support systems and challenges within the Arab entertainment world.

Al-Nahar’s most recent role was in the 2025 Ramadan series “Nafs,” alongside Daniella Rahme and Abed Fahd. The series, directed by Elie Samman, is a social romance exploring themes of love and sacrifice.
