Motorola is challenging the status quo in the smartphone market with its new Edge 70, a device prioritizing a remarkably slim design without sacrificing durability. Measuring just 5.6 millimeters at its thinnest point, the Edge 70 rivals flagship devices like the iPhone Air in portability. The phone boasts a robust build with Gorilla Glass 7i and an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, signaling a commitment to both aesthetics and longevity.

Motorola’s new Edge 70 smartphone is making waves with its impressively slim design, rivaling even the thinnest devices on the market. Measuring just 5.6 millimeters at its slimmest point, the Edge 70 is nearly indistinguishable in thickness from the latest iPhone Air.

Despite its sleek profile, the phone doesn’t compromise on durability. It features an aluminum alloy frame and is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i on the display. The device also boasts an IP69 certification, offering resistance to both dust and water, including short-term submersion.

The Edge 70 showcases a 6.67-inch pOLED display with a resolution of 2712×1220 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Support for HDR10+ delivers vibrant colors and a high level of contrast, enhancing the viewing experience.

The new device is very compact and fits well in the hand.

Performance Focused on Smoothness

Powering the Android experience is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This combination prioritizes fluid performance and long-term usability over chasing benchmark scores. The phone is designed to handle multitasking, demanding applications, and photo and video editing with ease.

Despite its slim form factor, the Edge 70 packs a 4800mAh battery. Motorola claims up to 50 hours of battery life on a single charge. In real-world use, the device should easily last a day and a half, or even two days, without needing a recharge. When power is low, the phone supports 68W TurboPower fast charging, as well as 15W wireless charging.

The Motorola Edge 70 features a triple camera system, with three 50-megapixel sensors – main, ultrawide, and front-facing selfie camera. The ultrawide lens offers a 120-degree field of view and also supports macro photography from very close distances.

The phone can record 4K video with triple HDR and features optical image stabilization. Utilizing Quad Pixel technology and software enhancements, the device aims to deliver strong performance even in low-light conditions. Motorola relies on a combination of hardware and software to automatically optimize images for sharpness, contrast, and detail.

AI-Powered Features Enhance User Experience

Artificial intelligence (AI), branded as moto ai, plays a significant role in the Edge 70’s functionality. These features extend beyond photography to encompass content organization and productivity. The phone can sort screenshots, notes, and photos, providing a streamlined overview of information and offering tools for recording, transcribing, and summarizing content.

Currently, the Edge 70 represents Motorola’s best offering in the domestic market. The price of $107 (approximately) for the device is reasonable considering the features it provides.

Through the end of the year, Motorola is also including additional gifts valued at over $71 with the phone. These include the Moto Watch Fit smartwatch, Moto Buds Loop wireless earbuds, and a Moto Tag location tracker. The earbuds are available in both standard and Swarovski-branded versions.
