No. 2 Providence Sweeps Bismarck State in Frontier Conference Volleyball Match
GREAT FALLS, Mont. — No. 2-ranked Providence defeated Bismarck State College 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-16) yesterday in a Frontier Conference volleyball match held at the McLaughlin Center, extending their win streak to 23 games.
The Argos (24-1, 17-0 conference) showcased a dominant offensive performance, hitting .336 as a team while holding the Mystics (4-18, 2-15 conference) to a .104 hitting percentage. Bella Green led all players with 13 kills on .524 hitting, and setter Bella Thompson dished out 40 assists. Bismarck State was led by Reese Duchsherer with six kills and seven digs, and Summer Thomas contributed five kills hitting .313 for the match. This victory solidifies Providence’s position as a top contender for the national championship.
Despite the loss, Bismarck State demonstrated improved composure in the third set, hitting .258, but ultimately fell to a 9-2 run by Providence to close out the match.
