Following a 120-107 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 2 of the Western Conference first-round series, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker expressed frustration over officiating decisions during a postgame news conference on April 23, 2026.
Booker stated he never received an explanation for a technical foul assessed in the third quarter after he flipped the ball behind his back while stepping out of bounds, striking Thunder forward Jaylin Williams. Officials initially called a foul on Williams before reversing the call and assessing a technical on Booker.
“I still haven’t gotten one,” Booker said. “It’s definitely something that has to be looking it. I heard [Alex] Caruso share them to call the tech and he ended up doing it. That’s one ref. In my 11 years, I haven’t called a ref out by name, but James [Williams] was terrible tonight, through and through. It’s bad for the sport, bad for the integrity of the sport. People are going to start viewing this as the WWE if they’re not held responsible.”
When asked about an offensive foul called on him earlier in the game for contact with Alex Caruso, Booker added, “Yes, they said unnatural shooting motion that hit Caruso, but Caruso’s moving forward on that. If that’s an unnatural shooting motion compared to what guys are doing to get fouls nowadays. You can play them side by side and I’ll let you be the judge. Pull the clips, run it back, I’m surprised This represents happening on national TV in playoff games.”
The Suns now trail the series 2-0 as they return home for Game 3 in Phoenix.
