Canyon Expands Endurace Lineup with New CF SLX and CF Models
Canyon has officially broadened its Endurace family, introducing the CF SLX and CF models to sit alongside the existing range. This expansion transforms the Endurace series into a comprehensive four-tier ecosystem, consisting of the entry-level AL, the mid-range CF, the performance-oriented CF SLX, and the pro-level CFR.
While the CFR model, released in April, focused on wind-tunnel optimization and pro-geometry, the new additions are not simply more affordable versions of the top-tier bike. Instead, the CF SLX and CF feature distinct frame designs, meaning the current Endurace range now encompasses four unique bike architectures tailored to different rider needs.
The Canyon Endurace CF SLX represents a balance between high-end aerodynamics and real-world utility. It features an integrated cockpit, an optimized head tube, and aero-profile tubing throughout the frame. In terms of performance, the CF SLX records a system drag of 209W at 45kph—a figure only 4W higher than the CFR and 5W higher than the Aeroad CFR.
Where the CFR was stripped down for pure racing, the CF SLX emphasizes practicality. A key innovation is the redesigned down tube; rather than a deep aerofoil shape, it utilizes a profile that broadens near the bottle mounts to incorporate a substantial storage port. This integrated compartment is designed to hold a multi-tool, tire levers, and a CO2 pump—all of which are included with the bike—as well as a stowing bag for sealant, plugs, or a spare tube. This represents a significant functional upgrade over the limited top-tube storage found in previous generations.
Further enhancing its versatility for long-distance riding, the CF SLX offers increased tire clearance of up to 38mm. The expanded Endurace family highlights a growing trend in bicycle engineering toward “all-road” capability, where the distinction between aerodynamic racing efficiency and endurance comfort is increasingly minimized.
