Bulgaria’s most modern stadium is rapidly taking shape, with construction continuing even during the holiday period. The goal is for CSKA Sofia to soon return to its home ground and continue writing its storied football history. The new “Bulgarian Army” stadium will not only meet all UEFA requirements but will also offer a premium experience for fans, promising an unforgettable matchday atmosphere.

Alexander Angelov, CEO of APD Bulgaria, recently provided an exclusive first look inside Sector A – Level 0, the stadium’s “football zone.” The tour showcased player access areas, staff zones, the tunnel leading to the pitch, the press conference hall, the mixed zone, the fan shop, a restaurant with a children’s area, kitchen facilities, and, of course, the future CSKA Sofia locker room where the team will prepare for upcoming battles.

This is the first in a series of reports offering a detailed look at the new stadium, beginning with the first floor of the main sector.

CSKA’s players are set to enjoy exceptional comfort. The main section of the team’s locker room will span 87 square meters and be equipped with every amenity. In addition to personalized lockers for each player, the room will feature a glowing ceiling displaying the club’s emblem. The coaching staff will have access to a full suite of technical tools for preparation and instruction, including multimedia and magnetic boards. A separate room is dedicated to the coaching staff, while the sanitary area includes a “cold” plunge pool for player recovery. A 32-square-meter massage room and additional medical room will also be available for complete player preparation.

A significant portion of the CSKA locker room is dedicated to pre-match warm-up, with a 78-square-meter hall featuring an artificial turf surface, various fitness equipment, and other support facilities.

The visiting team’s locker room will also boast modern functionality, including a separate coaching area, massage room, and sanitary facilities.

A dedicated flash interview area is planned in the entryway to the pitch, allowing for immediate post-match reactions. Connecting the two locker rooms is the “mixed zone,” providing journalists with direct access to players after matches. Adjacent to the mixed zone is the press conference hall, which will meet all UEFA requirements for international-level matches regarding capacity and equipment.

A large area on Level 0 is dedicated to the official CSKA fan shop, which will seamlessly connect to the upper level and the club museum. Nearby will be a restaurant area and a specially designed children’s corner, offering dedicated care and attention for young “Army” fans.

Alexander Rangelov confirmed that work on completing the canopy and metal facade structure is on schedule, paving the way for the installation of the glass facade.
