Dacia Begins Taking Orders for Updated Jogger with Hybrid Engine
The updated Dacia Jogger, featuring a 1.6-liter hybrid engine, is now available for order in Romania. This marks the first time Dacia is offering a hybrid powertrain on the Jogger model, produced at the Mioveni plant in Romania with expertise from the Renault Group.
The Jogger, which debuted in August 2021 as a successor to the Logan MCV, Lodgy, and Dokker in the compact MPV segment, is based on the third-generation Logan and is available in both five- and seven-seat configurations. The vehicle shares its platform and several components, including the dashboard and front end, with the Sandero and Logan models, essentially functioning as a long-wheelbase wagon version of those vehicles.
While the Jogger incorporates some crossover design elements, Dacia does not position it as a traditional SUV. The vehicle is powered by a range of engines, including 1.0-liter petrol options (TCe 100 and TCe 110), a 1.0-liter LPG variant (ECO-G 100), and the recent 1.6-liter hybrid (Hybrid 140). A 1.5 Blue dCi diesel engine is too available in North Africa.
The hybrid version utilizes a 1.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and is paired with a multi-mode 4+2-speed automatic transmission. The Dacia Jogger’s dimensions include a wheelbase of 2,897 mm, a length of 4,547 mm, a width of 1,784 mm, and a height of 1,632 mm, with a curb weight ranging from 1,176 to 1,385 kg.
The introduction of the hybrid engine reflects a broader industry trend toward electrification and could appeal to environmentally conscious consumers. The Jogger is assembled in both Romania (Mioveni) and Morocco (Tangier, since July 2024).
