During a global media event held on April 13, 2026, in Yokohama, Japan, the automaker unveiled a first look at the 2027 Rogue Hybrid e-POWER and officially confirmed the revival of the Xterra nameplate.

As a cornerstone of Nissan’s growth strategy in the U.S. And Canada, the all-new 2027 Rogue will integrate the company’s innovative Hybrid e-POWER technology. This move aims to blend electric motor responsiveness with the efficiency and usability that have made the Rogue/X-Trail family a global success, with nearly 10 million units sold worldwide since 2000—including almost 4 million in the U.S. Alone.

Ponz Pandikuthira, Nissan Americas’ senior vice president and Chief Product & Planning Officer, described the next generation as a “major step forward,” noting that the hybrid powertrain is specifically tailored to meet the needs of key global markets. The 2027 Rogue is scheduled for launch in the U.S. And Canada in late 2026.

The Return of the Xterra

In addition to its hybrid push, Nissan is reaffirming its commitment to the body-on-frame segment. The company confirmed the return of the Xterra, sharing initial teaser visuals of the rugged SUV. To strengthen its manufacturing footprint and capability for North American customers, Nissan announced that the all-new Xterra will be produced within the United States. According to reports, the model is expected to return to the U.S. Market in 2028.
