Norway’s top military officer has warned that Russia could potentially invade parts of Norway, citing a possible attempt to secure infrastructure in the Arctic. The assessment comes as concerns grow over Russian aggression following the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

General Eirik Kristoffersen, Chief of the Norwegian Armed Forces, explained his concerns in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian, as reported by HLN. “We cannot rule out a territorial annexation by Russia as part of a plan to secure infrastructure,” Kristoffersen said, referring to facilities on the Kola Peninsula, which borders Norway and Finland.
