Coaching Staff Expected to Join Papszun at Legia

Marek Papszun’s arrival at Legia Warsaw was always expected to trigger significant changes, and it appears he’ll be bringing familiar faces with him. Arkadiusz Malarz and Grzegorz Mokry will not be continuing with the club. The departures from Raków strongly suggest that Węska, Garnys, Frelik, and Cebula will follow Papszun to Warsaw. “The move to Legia is confirmed. All four will be on Marek Papszun’s staff at Ł3,” reported Piotr Kamieniecki of TVP Sport.

Paweł Frelik had the longest tenure with Raków (2016-2025, with a one-year break). Papszun leaves the Częstochowa club in excellent form, but the challenge now falls to new coach Łukasz Tomczyk to maintain that level of performance.

Papszun’s staff also faces a significant task in Warsaw, tasked with turning around Legia’s season. “The Military” currently sit second-to-last in the league, but remain within striking distance of a European competition spot thanks to the tight standings. The team was already eliminated from the Polish Cup and the Europa Conference League.
