Wichita State’s Allie Paulsen Named American Conference Defensive Player of the Week
Wichita State middle blocker Allie Paulsen has been recognized as the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Paulsen, a redshirt sophomore from Wichita, earned the honor for her performance during the week of October 13-19, averaging 1.78 blocks per set, 0.22 digs per set, and 1.67 kills per set, all while maintaining a .444 hitting percentage across two matches. Her strong defensive play is a key component of the Shockers’ overall strategy this season.
In a four-set victory at UTSA, Paulsen nearly recorded a double-double with a career-high 10 blocks and nine kills, hitting .438 with two digs. She followed that performance with six blocks, six kills, and a .455 hitting percentage in a five-set loss against conference leader Rice.
