Persib Bandung head coach Bojan Hodak lamented his team’s missed penalty opportunity following their qualification for the AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2) Round of 16.
Persib secured their spot in the knockout stage of ACL 2 with a 1-0 victory over Bangkok United in their final Group G match at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Wednesday, December 10th.
A 45+1 minute header from Ramon Tanque proved to be the decisive goal, sending Maung Bandung through to the next round.

Persib had a chance to take an early lead against Bangkok United after being awarded a penalty, but Uilliam Barros’ attempt was saved by goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai, with the ball hitting the post and going out of play.
Hodak expressed his disappointment with the missed opportunity. The Croatian coach highlighted Persib Bandung’s struggles to convert from the spot.
“Our team played well in this match. However, we once again failed to score from the penalty spot – it’s now happened four times,” Hodak said, as quoted by the club’s website.
“This was our fifth match in the last 20 days. We made some changes to the lineup,” Hodak added.
Hodak then praised the efforts of his players, including Thom Haye, in securing top spot in Group G of ACL 2.
“I felt the atmosphere in this match was fantastic. This result is also a good sign for Indonesian football,” Hodak stated.
