Andrew Jung converted a second-half penalty as Persib secured a 1-0 victory over Dewa United in a Super League match on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium. The win continues a strong run of form for Persib, who are making a push up the league table.

Jung’s decisive spot-kick in the 62nd minute proved to be the difference, lifting Persib to third place in the standings with 22 points. Their record now stands at seven wins, one draw, and two losses through 13 matches of the 2025/26 season.

Persib Head Coach Bojan Hodak fielded a familiar lineup, starting Teja Paku Alam in goal. The defense consisted of Matricardi, Julio Cesar, Kakang Rudianto, and Eliano Reijnders, while Marc Klok, Frans Putros, and Thom Haye anchored the midfield. The attacking trio featured Saddil Ramdani, Uilliam Barros, and Jung.

After a scoreless first half, Hodak made a tactical adjustment at the interval, substituting Kakang Rudianto for Beckham Putra Nugraha.

Early in the second half, Saddil Ramdani set up Thom Haye for a shot from outside the box in the 50th minute, but Dewa United goalkeeper Sonny Stevens made a crucial save to deny the attempt.

Persib continued to press, but two corner kicks failed to produce a goal. The breakthrough eventually came after Barros went down inside the penalty area while challenging for a Klok pass. Initially waved off by the referee, a VAR review awarded Persib a penalty in the 57th minute.

Jung stepped up and calmly slotted the penalty home in the 62nd minute, giving Persib a 1-0 lead.

Dewa United responded with a dangerous attack of their own, Alexis Nahuel Messidoro unleashing a powerful shot that was expertly saved by Teja Paku Alam.

Hodak made further changes in the 71st minute, bringing on Rosembergne Da Silva and Ramon “Tanque” de Andrade Souza in place of Saddil Ramdani and Andrew Jung. Robi Darwis replaced Frans Putros nine minutes later.

Beckham Putra Nugraha received a yellow card in the 80th minute for a late tackle on Nick Kuipers. Eliano Reijnders was also cautioned three minutes later.

Disaster struck for Persib in the 87th minute when Beckham was shown a second yellow card – and a subsequent red – for a foul on Messidoro, reducing the home side to ten men.

Persib were forced to defend resolutely during nine minutes of added time, with Dewa United throwing everything forward in search of an equalizer.

Teja Paku Alam proved to be the hero for Persib, making two vital saves to preserve the lead and secure the 1-0 victory. The result solidifies Persib’s position as a contender in the Super League.
