Jakarta –
Persija Jakarta manager Ardhi Tjahjoko has addressed speculation surrounding midfielder Ivar Jenner, confirming the club’s interest but indicating a deal is currently facing obstacles.
Reports had linked Jenner with a move to Persija as the young player nears the end of his contract with Jong FC Utrecht and has indicated his intention to explore new opportunities.
While Persija emerged as a potential destination, Tjahjoko stated that finalizing a transfer is proving difficult.

“I don’t even know where the initial rumors came from,” Tjahjoko told reporters at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
“I did speak with Ivar Jenner, but we haven’t received a response yet from FC Utrecht. We’re still waiting and a deal isn’t confirmed at this time,” he added.
Persija has already bolstered its squad during the mid-season transfer window of the 2025/26 Super League season, bringing in Fajar Fathurrahman, Alaeddine Ajaraie, and Paulo Ricardo. These additions aim to strengthen the team as they push for success in the league.
The arrival of Alaeddine and Paulo will necessitate a change to the club’s foreign player roster. Persija previously had 11 foreign players, comprised of 10 Brazilian players and one from Japan.
“We’ve already released Gustavo Franca on loan to Arema as he didn’t fit into the coach’s plans,” Tjahjoko explained.
“Currently, we have 12 players, but we’ll likely leave one player off the registration list. The final decision on that will be made by the coach,” he concluded.
