Pink Floyd’s iconic album “Wish You Were Here” is getting a special celebration this December with a commemorative box set marking its 50th anniversary. The release delves into how the band navigated the pressures of fame and found renewed connection through the grief surrounding the decline of former bandmate Syd Barrett.

Just three weeks remain until the release of the WYWH 50 Edition! The December 2025 issue of Rolling Stone features an in-depth cover story, “Pink Floyd: ‘Wish You Were Here’ and the Price of Fame,” charting the album’s journey from conception to completion. While fans are excited about the release, some have expressed a wish for a vinyl single to accompany the set.

The cover photo, showcasing Pink Floyd in Kew Gardens, London in 1969, was a session orchestrated by Storm Thorgerson and Aubrey Powell. Interestingly, the image doesn’t directly reflect the themes of the anniversary album.

This special edition of Rolling Stone is available now. The release arrives as Pink Floyd’s legacy continues to resonate with fans and influence generations of musicians.
