Riau province is moving too formalize the positions of thousands of part-time government workers, a step officials say will improve the delivery of public services and provide much-needed stability for the workforce. Over 4,500 workers across the province will receive official appointments beginning December 24, 2025, following a multi-year effort to assess and integrate these roles into the provincial government structure. The appointments, which include 2,505 PPPK workers in riau province and 2,467 in Rokan Hilir, are expected to be officiated by Acting Governor SF Hariyanto.

Thousands of Part-Time Government Workers to be Officially Appointed in Riau Province

More than 4,500 part-time government workers across Riau province are set to receive official appointments in the coming days, a move expected to solidify their positions and enhance public services. The appointments come as a significant boost for the workforce and a commitment to strengthening local government capacity.

A total of 2,505 part-time PPPK (Government Contract Workers) in Riau province will be officially appointed on December 24, 2025, according to recent announcements. This follows a similar announcement for Rokan Hilir, where 2,467 SK PPPK Paruh Waktu (Decrees for Part-Time Government Contract Workers) were prepared for distribution on the same date.

The appointments will be carried out by Acting Governor of Riau, SF Hariyanto, who is expected to officiate the ceremony for the thousands of workers. The move underscores the provincial government’s dedication to formalizing employment within its ranks.

In a symbolic gesture, Bistamam has already handed over the appointment decrees to the part-time workers. The appointments are seen as a crucial step in ensuring the long-term stability and professionalism of the provincial workforce.

Ketua Fraksi PKS DPRD Riau (Chairman of the PKS faction of the Riau Regional People’s Representative Council) has urged the newly appointed PPPK workers to prioritize serving the community. This call to action highlights the expectation that these workers will play a vital role in delivering essential public services.
