Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were not invited to Sandringham this year. The decision to include Beatrice and Eugenie is widely believed to be a move by King Charles to shield his nieces from the fallout of their father’s scandal. Experts suggest the princesses’ presence demonstrates a deliberate effort to “protect” them from their father’s tarnished reputation.

“Every public appearance carries an unspoken question – are they inadvertently being punished for Andrew’s public controversies, or are they being carefully protected from him? The answer this week is clear. They are being protected,” said Charlie Proctor, editor of Royal Central.

The appearance of Eugenie and Beatrice follows their absence from Kate’s Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 5. Royal sources indicated at the time that the sisters were touched by the invitation but unable to attend.

The royal family has faced increased scrutiny in recent years, and this decision highlights the delicate balance between maintaining tradition and navigating public perception.
