Sony has revealed the lineup of games coming to PlayStation Plus in May 2026, including a classic title from the PlayStation 1 era. The announcement, initially shared during PlayStation’s State of Play in February, details the additions for subscribers across different tiers.
Time Crisis, originally released in 1997, will be added to the Classics catalog, available to Premium subscribers on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game will also be available for individual purchase through the PlayStation Store starting May 19th. This port of the original arcade shooter will feature gyro aiming on both PS5 and PS4, aiming to replicate the experience of the original light gun accessory. Additional features include quick saves, a rewind function, and visual upgrades.
The addition of Time Crisis highlights the growing trend of bringing classic titles to modern platforms, offering both nostalgia for long-time gamers and a new experience for those unfamiliar with the original. This strategy allows Sony to leverage its extensive back catalog and provide added value to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
While Sony has not yet detailed all the games coming to PlayStation Plus in May, the reveal of Time Crisis provides a glimpse into the upcoming offerings. The full lineup is expected to be announced next week, on May 5th, replacing the current free games which include Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream.
