The company, previously known for its value-focused mid-range offerings, is betting on a combination of high-end specs and innovative features to gain traction in a competitive segment. This move reflects a broader trend of smartphone manufacturers seeking to establish themselves at the higher end of the market.

Realme GT 8 Pro: Technical Specifications

The Realme GT 8 Pro boasts a large 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. A standout feature is its 200MP telephoto camera, aiming to deliver exceptional detail and zoom capabilities.

The phone’s design is striking, with a substantial camera module on the rear. The device feels well-balanced despite its weight of 218 grams, and the matte finish on the back provides a comfortable grip. The review unit came in a beige-toned white color, with a warm-toned metal frame.

The camera system on the GT 8 Pro includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP telephoto lens. Realme has partnered with Ricoh for camera tuning, offering a dedicated “Ricoh GR” mode with various film-inspired filters. The camera performs well in most conditions, though image quality can suffer slightly at the edges of the frame.

Overall, the Realme GT 8 Pro is a compelling flagship smartphone that delivers on performance, display quality, and battery life. While the swappable camera module and Ricoh collaboration are interesting additions, they may not be enough to fully differentiate the phone in a crowded market.
