More than 40 countries will send teams to compete for a USD 100,000 prize and mentorship from industry experts, aimed at funding and developing their projects.
A single idea has the power to create significant impact. That’s the driving force behind Red Bull Basement, a global innovation competition searching for the next generation of entrepreneurs. The contest recently opened applications, inviting students and developers to transform concepts into successful products through mentorship and the power of artificial intelligence.
Submissions are being accepted through April 12th on the official Red Bull Basement website. One team will be selected to present their idea at the World Final in Silicon Valley, the world’s leading hub for technology and entrepreneurship.
The program, developed in collaboration with Microsoft and AMD, is already demonstrating a global impact. Soj Gamayon, the 2024 World Final winner from Tokyo, Japan, is a prime example, rapidly advancing the launch of Agriconnect, a platform designed to strengthen and connect stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Gamayon spent three weeks in Silicon Valley as part of his prize, interacting with industry experts and learning from leading figures. He shared, “This trip showed me that I am a bold person. It encouraged me to take risks, understanding that I am capable. That’s something Red Bull Basement taught me about myself, and it completely changed me as a person.”
Phase 1: Application – Where it All Begins

Starting today and running through April 12th, individuals over the age of 18 can submit their applications through the Red Bull Basement website. Applicants with existing ideas can answer a few questions about their concepts. For those still exploring possibilities, AI-powered mentors will assist in generating ideas based on their interests. This approach reflects a growing trend of leveraging AI to accelerate the ideation process.
Phase 2: National Finals – Where Ideas Start to Take Shape
Teams selected for the National Final on April 23rd must present a designed prototype and a two-minute pitch to a panel of local industry leaders and experts. Prior programming experience isn’t required, as applicants will have access to the GitHub Student Developer Pack and Microsoft Azure credits to develop their ideas. Providing these resources lowers the barrier to entry for aspiring innovators.
Phase 3: Development – Turning Ideas into Reality
From May 18th to May 30th, winning teams from each country will have the opportunity to transform their prototypes into Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) with guidance from top-tier mentors and a global community of peers. The goal is to arrive at the World Final with a polished product and a compelling story. This phase emphasizes the importance of rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Phase 4: World Final – Taking Ideas to the Global Stage
From June 1st to June 3rd, 2026, winning teams from each country will participate in an immersive experience in Silicon Valley, bringing their projects to life and showcasing them to a panel of international experts, venture capital investors, and industry leaders. This event offers a unique opportunity for exposure, global visibility, and networking.
