Resident Evil Requiem Preorders Begin, New Switch 2 Pro Controller Revealed

Preorders for Resident Evil Requiem are now live at major retailers, alongside the announcement of a limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller themed around the game, signaling a major push for the franchise on Nintendo’s upcoming console.

The standard physical edition of Resident Evil Requiem is available for $70 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X, with an Amazon Exclusive Edition including a double-sided poster. A $90 Deluxe Edition for all platforms adds a steelbook case, lenticular card, and digital extras like costumes and weapon skins. PC players can find discounted Steam keys for both editions at Fanatical.

Nintendo Switch 2 owners have an additional option with the Resident Evil Generation Pack, priced at $90, which includes Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. All three titles will launch on the Switch 2 on February 27, 2026, coinciding with the release of a special Resident Evil-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller for $100, featuring a Raccoon City newspaper clipping design. This marks the first themed Pro Controller for the Switch 2, potentially setting a precedent for future console accessory releases. More information on the Nintendo Switch 2 can be found on Nintendo’s official website.

A Grace Ashcroft Amiibo is planned for release sometime next summer. Preorders for digital editions are available on console storefronts and Steam, and an in-game “Apocalypse” costume is included with all preorders. Capcom has seen significant success with the Resident Evil franchise, selling over 138 million units worldwide as of Capcom’s latest financial report.

Capcom expects to begin shipping preordered items in early 2026, with the Resident Evil Generation Pack available digitally until March 31, 2026.

Resident Evil Requiem preorders are now live at multiple major retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. The $70 physical version for PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox has an Amazon Exclusive Edition with a free double-sided poster. Console and PC players can preorder the $90 Deluxe Edition to get an exclusive steelbook case, lenticular card, and a bunch of digital extras.

Capcom is also offering a limited-time bundle for Nintendo Switch 2 called Resident Evil Generation Pack. Available in physical and digital formats, the Generation Pack includes Requiem, Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition for $90. RE7 and Village launch on Switch 2 alongside Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, 2026. Switch 2 owners will be able to play all three with a special-edition Resident Evil Switch 2 Pro Controller. Unless Nintendo surprises us before February, Resident Evil Requiem will be the first themed Switch 2 Pro Controller. The Resident Evil Pro Controller launches the same day as Requiem and is up for preorder for $100 at Best Buy. A Grace Ashcroft Amiibo will be available sometime next summer.

Preorders for digital editions of Resident Evil Requiem are available on console storefronts and Steam. If you’re planning on playing on PC and don’t want the Deluxe Steelbook Edition, Steam keys for the standard and Deluxe Edition are discounted at GameSpot sister site Fanatical.
