Resident Evil Requiem Preorders Begin, New Switch 2 Pro Controller Revealed
Preorders for Resident Evil Requiem are now live at major retailers, alongside the announcement of a limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller themed around the game, signaling a major push for the franchise on Nintendo’s upcoming console.
The standard physical edition of Resident Evil Requiem is available for $70 on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X, with an Amazon Exclusive Edition including a double-sided poster. A $90 Deluxe Edition for all platforms adds a steelbook case, lenticular card, and digital extras like costumes and weapon skins. PC players can find discounted Steam keys for both editions at Fanatical.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners have an additional option with the Resident Evil Generation Pack, priced at $90, which includes Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition, and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition. All three titles will launch on the Switch 2 on February 27, 2026, coinciding with the release of a special Resident Evil-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller for $100, featuring a Raccoon City newspaper clipping design. This marks the first themed Pro Controller for the Switch 2, potentially setting a precedent for future console accessory releases. More information on the Nintendo Switch 2 can be found on Nintendo’s official website.
A Grace Ashcroft Amiibo is planned for release sometime next summer. Preorders for digital editions are available on console storefronts and Steam, and an in-game “Apocalypse” costume is included with all preorders. Capcom has seen significant success with the Resident Evil franchise, selling over 138 million units worldwide as of Capcom’s latest financial report.
Capcom expects to begin shipping preordered items in early 2026, with the Resident Evil Generation Pack available digitally until March 31, 2026.
