Rock al Parque, Latin America’s largest free rock festival, drew a crowd of 253,000 people to Bogotá’s Simón BolÃvar Park on June 21, 22, and 23, 2025, according to organizers. The 29th edition of the event featured 56 musical acts, including 27 international groups, nine national bands, and 20 local artists.
Among the standout performances were Dismember, A.N.I.M.A.L., Don Tetto, and La Derecha. The festival’s shift to a June date marked a change from its traditional November schedule.
Looking ahead to 2026, the 30th anniversary of Rock al Parque was initially expected to capture place in June. Although, the Bogotá Tourism Institute’s recently released event calendar indicates the festival will now be held in October, alongside Gastrofest and Ópera al Parque. This announcement comes as music festivals continue to be a major draw for tourism and cultural engagement.
When Might Rock al Parque 2026 Take Place?
While an official date for Rock al Parque 2026 hasn’t been announced, speculation is building around October 10, 11, and 12. The festival typically spans three days, and October 12th is a national holiday in Colombia, making a long weekend a likely possibility. However, organizers have yet to confirm any dates.
Online buzz suggests the festival could potentially host Iron Maiden on October 11, as the band has a concert already scheduled for that date.
Rock al Parque has been held annually in Bogotá since its inception in 1995, with cancellations only occurring in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival’s consistent run demonstrates its enduring popularity and importance to the Colombian music scene.
