Rossa Issues Legal Notice Over Plastic Surgery Slander

Indonesian pop icon Rossa is fighting back against a wave of online misinformation. The diva’s management team has officially issued legal notices, or somasi, to dozens of social media accounts accused of spreading malicious falsehoods and manipulating content to damage her reputation.

Battle Against ‘Plastic Surgery’ Rumors

The legal crackdown follows the viral spread of manipulated videos and photos claiming the singer underwent a failed plastic surgery procedure. According to her legal team, these claims are entirely baseless. Natalia Rusli, legal counsel for Rossa’s management, clarified during a press conference in the Darmawangsa area of South Jakarta on Monday, April 13, 2026, that any perceived changes in the singer’s appearance were simply the result of professional makeup artistry.

“For example, [claims that] Mbak Rossa had a failed operation—that is not the case. Mbak Rossa did not undergo any such operation. As an artist and a diva, she has a makeup artist who must follow current trends,” Rusli explained.

Sophisticated Digital Manipulation

The management team expressed outrage over the deceptive nature of the content, which was found across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and Threads. Rusli detailed how lousy actors “stitched” together original footage of Rossa with external audio and narratives to create a false sense of factuality.

Sophisticated Digital Manipulation

“Mbak Rossa’s images were taken and stitched with someone speaking. Her music was too used… This ‘stitching’ makes it appear as though this news is true,” Rusli stated. The use of the singer’s own music and image to fuel hoaxes highlights a growing trend of deceptive AI-style editing used to target high-profile celebrities.

Ultimatum for Public Apologies

The legal team has specifically targeted 38 accounts, demanding more than just the removal of the offensive posts. While some users reportedly panicked and deleted their content immediately, Rossa’s team insists that a “take down” is not enough. The management is demanding a formal, public apology within a 24-hour window.

By taking this aggressive stance, the diva is sending a clear message regarding the protection of her dignity and professional image. The legal team confirmed they have already secured the necessary digital evidence to pursue further legal action if the demands for public apologies are not met.
