Samsung is preparing to launch its new Galaxy A57 mid-range smartphone in the coming weeks, adding to its lineup of mobile devices. The South Korean tech giant is expected to unveil the device shortly after launching its latest flagship Galaxy S series.
According to a report by Tech Advisor, the Galaxy A57 could arrive as early as February or March. This timeline aligns with the phone’s recent certification by TENAA in China, suggesting a relatively quick release in key markets.
The anticipated launch window also mirrors the release schedule of its predecessor, the A56, which debuted and became available for purchase in March of last year.
Samsung may incorporate design elements from its Galaxy S25 Edge, known for its slim profile, into the more affordable A57 model. Certification information from China indicates the A57 will measure just 6.7 mm thick, a slight reduction of 0.5 mm compared to the previous generation. The device is expected to measure 161.5 x 76.8 mm and weigh 182 grams, making it 18 grams lighter than its predecessor.
These dimensions would result in a compact and easily manageable smartphone.
Leaked renders suggest the Galaxy A57 will feature a slightly thicker bezel at the bottom of the display. Under the hood, the phone is rumored to be powered by the latest Exynos 1680 chip, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM, with an 8GB option also available.
Pricing details remain unconfirmed, but Tech Advisor anticipates a potential increase due to rising costs of RAM and storage. The A56 launched last year at £499/US$499 (Rp 11,2 juta/Rp 8,4 juta), up from £439/€479 (Rp 10 juta/Rp 9,5 juta) for the A55.
Tech Advisor suggests this price point remains competitive for a mid-range device, comparable to the Pixel 9a.
Still, global economic conditions and potential supply chain constraints, particularly regarding memory components, could influence the final price. The continued evolution of smartphone design and component costs underscores the challenges manufacturers face in balancing features and affordability.
Consumers will need to await an official announcement from Samsung for confirmation of the release date and specifications of the Galaxy A57.
