Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a groundbreaking triple-folding smartphone that transforms from a standard 6.5-inch phone into a fully functional 10-inch tablet. The device represents a significant step forward in foldable technology, offering users a versatile form factor previously seen only in concept devices.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will initially launch in South Korea this December, with wider availability planned for the United States and other territories beginning in the first quarter of 2026.

Galaxy Z TriFold: From Traditional Smartphone to Full-Size Tablet
Samsung has been a pioneer in the foldable phone space since the release of the original Galaxy Fold in 2019. Now, six years later, the company is introducing a new form factor: the dual-hinge foldable phone.
While not the first triple-foldable phone to market – that distinction belongs to Huawei’s Mate XT – Samsung has implemented a unique design. The device unfolds like a triptych, with the two side panels folding inward over one another, unlike the “Z” shape of the Huawei model.
The Galaxy Z TriFold boasts a remarkably slim profile, measuring just 3.9 millimeters at its thinnest point.
When fully unfolded, the Z TriFold features a large 10-inch display with a resolution of 2160×1584 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Essentially, it’s a standard-sized tablet screen concealed within a foldable phone.

The Z TriFold is also an exceptionally thin device, with a minimum thickness of just 3.9 millimeters and a maximum thickness of 4.2 millimeters, depending on the panel. However, it isn’t the thinnest triple-foldable available – that title belongs to Huawei’s model (though the Huawei device has a larger maximum thickness of 4.75mm).
Weighing in at 309 grams, the Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung’s heaviest phone to date, a consequence of its dimensions and features.

The Galaxy Z Trifold has a minimum thickness of 3.9 mm in one of its side sections, 4mm in the other side section and 4.2 mm in the central section.
When folded, the phone features a 6.5-inch display with a FullHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. In this configuration, it shares similarities with the Galaxy Z Fold7, another Samsung foldable, as its external screen is the same size and the camera system is very similar.
The Galaxy Z TriFold’s main camera system includes three sensors: a 200MP primary sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor (with 3x optical zoom), and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. The phone also features dual selfie cameras (internal and external), both with 10MP resolution.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor (the same chip found in the Galaxy S25 series), paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It features a 5,600mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging.
Samsung previewed its work on a triple-foldable phone during the Galaxy S25 presentation, and nearly a year later, that device is now a reality. It will go on sale December 12th in South Korea, and the company has confirmed it will arrive in the United States and other territories during the first quarter of 2026. Pricing remains unknown, but given the cost of traditional foldable phones (those with a single hinge), it’s expected to be a premium device.
