Samsung Electronics announced today, January 5, 2026, the global launch of The Freestyle+, a new portable projector leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver a more flexible and personalized entertainment experience. The device, designed for a variety of spaces, will be showcased at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 6-9.
Building on the original Freestyle’s design, the Freestyle+ incorporates enhanced AI capabilities, increased brightness, and expanded entertainment features. This allows users to enjoy content with minimal setup and adjustment, reflecting a growing trend toward seamless, adaptable home entertainment solutions.

At the heart of The Freestyle+ is Samsung’s AI OptiScreen technology, which automatically adjusts the image to suit different environments. This allows users to simply point, place, and begin viewing. The technology represents a significant step forward in simplifying the projection experience.
AI OptiScreen includes a suite of intelligent features designed to automatically optimize the image across various surfaces and settings:
- 3D Auto Keystone automatically corrects distortion, even when projecting onto irregular or non-flat surfaces like corners, curtains, or angled walls.
- Real-time Focus continuously adjusts the focus as the projector moves or rotates, maintaining sharp and stable images without blur or visual noise.
- Screen Fit automatically adjusts the image to match the screen area when used with a compatible projector screen accessory.
- Wall Calibration analyzes the color or pattern of the projection surface and minimizes visual distractions for clearer viewing.
This intelligent viewing experience is further enhanced by Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s personalized AI platform for screens. It integrates an improved version of Bixby with AI services from global partners, enabling a more natural and conversational interaction with on-screen content.

Designed for portability, The Freestyle+ features a compact cylindrical form factor that’s easy to move between rooms or take on the go. Delivering 430 ISO lumens, it offers nearly double the brightness of the previous generation, ensuring content appears crisp and vibrant in everyday environments.
The Freestyle+ is designed for effortless everyday entertainment, allowing users to move it freely without worrying about space limitations. Its 180-degree rotational design supports projection at virtually any angle – walls, floors, or ceilings – without the need for additional mounts or accessories, providing flexible viewing configurations that adapt to different rooms and moments throughout the day.
Immersive Entertainment on the Go
Beyond the living room, The Freestyle+ delivers entertainment on the move, without relying on external devices or fixed setups. Integrated access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT service partners, and Samsung Gaming Hub allows users to stream, game, and explore content directly from the projector, eliminating the need for external devices.
For audio, The Freestyle+ offers immersive, room-filling sound through its built-in 360-degree speaker, designed to produce richer, more complete audio in a compact design. Q-Symphony allows the projector to work in sync with compatible Samsung soundbars, creating a more cohesive and layered sound experience wherever it’s used.
