Scott Disick Scraps New York City Move, Cites Concerns for Children

Scott Disick has decided against relocating to New York City, reversing a plan he’d been developing earlier this year due to concerns about the impact on his three children.

Disick revealed his change of heart in a recent episode of The Kardashians, explaining that a conversation with his eldest son, Mason, played a key role in his decision. “I talked to Mase and he’s like, ‘You can’t actually move,’” Disick recalled. He further stated he realized the logistical difficulties and emotional strain of having his children frequently travel across the country to visit him were insurmountable, saying there was “no way” he could ask them to do so.

The reality star had been serious about the move, even selling his boat in anticipation of the relocation, but now plans to find a more suitable residence in New York that will accommodate visits. This decision comes as Disick and his ex-partner, Kourtney Kardashian, have increasingly prioritized their children’s privacy, limiting their appearances on social media and in interviews. Kardashian previously explained on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in 2022 that Mason, in particular, “doesn’t want any part of” being in the public eye. Co-parenting arrangements can be complex, and this shift reflects a growing trend among celebrities to protect their children from intense media scrutiny.

New episodes of The Kardashians are released every Thursday on Hulu. Disick indicated he will now focus on finding a New York space that works for occasional visits, while maintaining a base closer to his children’s primary residence.
