Nóra Ördög asked a contestant to exit the kitchen during a recent taping of a popular cooking competition.
As previously reported, a contestant on Séfek séfe (Chefs of Chefs) – Patrik Mikula – was hospitalized following the Thursday, March 6th episode. Mikula lost consciousness, began to feel dizzy, and ultimately required medical attention.
“I was very scared as I’ve had a serious medical history before. I was previously diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that required surgery because it was life-threatening,” Mikula said after being examined at the emergency room of a nearby clinic. He was cleared to return to the competition the following day.
On Friday, during the announcement of the day’s challenge, Piró, wearing a red apron, noticed a numbness in his hand. After starting to speak, his teammates immediately alerted Nóra Ördög. Though the 55-year-old kitchen assistant initially hesitated, she eventually called for the medical staff.
At first, I didn’t want to say how badly I was feeling. But unfortunately, I had to, because my condition was getting worse.
– explained Piró, whose systolic blood pressure reading was over 200 Hgmm. Upon seeing the reading, Frigyes Vomberg stated that the contestant needed to rest and that the team would work with only three members that day. Despite assurances from his teammates that his health was the most important thing and that they would still be able to perform well, the developments had a clear impact.
Sadly, I had to decide that I couldn’t participate in the team cooking. But I really wanted to, because I didn’t want to let them down, but I know how strong they are, and I know they’ll do it.
As Nóra Ördög asked the departing Piró to leave the kitchen, Palkó, a member of the black team, stated:
“I feel it’s a bit trivial that someone gets sick every day. I don’t even know how this can happen, that someone always has something wrong with them.”
At the end of the episode, Piró found himself in the danger zone, but thanks to the generosity of the judges, he didn’t have to leave, only switch teams with Sova, another contestant on the verge of elimination.
