Jakarta, A somber mood has fallen over the Indonesian entertainment world with the news of singer Vidi Aldiano’s passing on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 4:33 PM local time.
Musician Andi Rianto first shared the news on his personal X account, offering a farewell message to Vidi, as reported by InsertLive.
The family later confirmed the heartbreaking news to media outlets.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of my son: OXAVIA ALDIANO bin HARRY APRIANTO,” a family statement read, as quoted by InsertLive.
“Vidi passed away surrounded by his loving family, who peacefully accepted God’s will, on March 7th at 4:33 PM. Rest in Peace, and journey towards the Divine Light, my son,” the statement continued.
Outpouring of Grief from Fellow Artists
Following the announcement, numerous Indonesian artists took to social media to express their condolences.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Farewell @/vidialdiano. Returning to the arms of Allah SWT during the holy month of Ramadan is the desire of all His servants. But you were chosen by Him. May Paradise be your final resting place. You are no longer in pain, though your departure leaves a void in our hearts,” wrote Melly Goeslaw on her Instagram account.
“Many love Vidi, but Allah SWT loves you more and knows what is best for you. Your work and love for music will forever be remembered. Please, those who see this post, offer Al-Fatihah for the late Vidi Aldiano,” Melly added.
Musician Armand Maulana also shared his grief in a post.
