“ATTENTION, DRIVERS!”

Sleet and snowfall are currently impacting multiple areas, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions due to slippery roads.

“Please ensure you have winter tires fitted and adjust your speed to the traffic conditions,” Sibiu Police stated Sunday evening.

The department confirmed that police units are deployed throughout the region to support road safety and ensure smooth traffic flow during the inclement weather.

Police are also offering a series of recommendations for drivers:

Increase your following distance.
Avoid sudden maneuvers.
Drive responsibly.
Exercise caution while traveling to reach your destination safely!
Meteorologists have forecast precipitation, including sleet, snow, and isolated patches of ice, in the Western Plains, Transylvania, and the northwest of Moldova.

In the mountains, snowfall is expected to become more prevalent, with snow accumulation, particularly on the ridges.

Temperatures are also continuing to drop. Sunday night into Monday will see sub-freezing temperatures, especially in the western part of the country.
