Krystof Hrabik opened the scoring for Sparta Prague just before the nine-minute mark, capitalizing on a rebound in front of the net.

Dzierkals Delivers

Helsinki, currently 13th in the 16-team Finnish league, attempted to respond in the middle frame. They came out with more energy, but Martins Dzierkals extended Sparta’s lead to 2-0 at 29:00. Jakub Krejcik set up the play with a beautiful pass from behind his own net, allowing Dzierkals to unleash a blistering 131 km/h wrist shot.

Sparta Prague carried the two-goal advantage into the second intermission.
