A bus crash in Stockholm, Sweden, on Friday left three people dead and three injured, according to reports. The incident occurred when a bus veered off the road and struck a bus shelter near the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. This tragedy underscores the vulnerability of public transportation users.

Sören Jansson, 78, a Stockholm resident who was waiting at the bus shelter, described the harrowing scene. He was en route to Hallstavik to meet his wife when the bus crashed. “I saw the bus coming towards us. There were at least ten people waiting,” Jansson said. “Then the bus crashed right in.” More details about the crash can be found here.

In Poland, officials are investigating an act of sabotage on a railway line between Warsaw and Lublin that occurred Sunday morning. Polish General Wieslaw Kukula characterized the situation as a potential precursor to war.

“It is meant to create favorable conditions for a possible aggression on Polish territory,” Kukula stated. The incident has prompted a heightened state of alert, with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk convening an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee on Monday. NATO has also been consulted regarding the situation, according to reports.

Away from the headlines, Buffalo Sabres star Rasmus Dahlin has taken a personal leave to support his fiancée, Carolina Matovac, as she continues to make progress in her recovery. Dahlin recently traveled to Sweden to be with her.

“It’s hard to describe in words what a warrior she is. She’s making progress every day,” Dahlin told Expressen. Further information on this story is available here.
