As the Lunar New Year approaches, police in Taichung City are increasing security measures, particularly in areas with high foot traffic. On February 11th, Taichung City Deputy Secretary-General Chang Da-chun visited the Sixth Precinct of the Taichung City Police Bureau to express support for officers working through the holiday.
The Sixth Precinct covers the city’s Seventh District, a major shopping area, and is facing a particularly busy period. Chang and other city officials presented the precinct with gifts as a token of appreciation for their dedication to maintaining safety and order. The visit aimed to bolster morale as officers prepare for increased demands during the holiday season.
During the visit, Chang acknowledged the heavy workload of the Sixth Precinct, stating that the officers and civilian support staff consistently work hard to ensure the safety and security of the area. He expressed his hope that continued collaboration between police and the community will help maintain a safe environment for residents and visitors alike.
The Fourth Precinct is also preparing for the holiday rush, actively implementing safety protocols to manage increased traffic and crowds. The precinct is receiving support from the Taichung City Police Association, Fourth Office, which hosted a gratitude dinner for officers.
Zheng Yonghe, director of the Taichung City Police Association, Fourth Office, organized the dinner, spending approximately $10,000 USD to indicate appreciation for the officers’ year-round commitment to public safety. The event included gifts and additional financial bonuses, intended to boost morale before the busy holiday period.
Officials at the Fourth Precinct stated that the support from the police association is invaluable, providing both material assistance and a much-needed morale boost as they work to ensure a safe and peaceful Lunar New Year for everyone. (Editor: Li Shuhua) 1150212
