Celebrity Traitors UK Finale Released Online Early, Spoilers Threaten Viewing Experience

The finale of the popular BBC reality series The Celebrity Traitors was unexpectedly released online yesterday, more than 24 hours before its scheduled UK broadcast.

Viewers in Canada initially reported being able to access the full episode via the Crave Canada streaming service, before it was removed. Social media users shared evidence of the early release, including screenshots of the one-hour and eight-minute episode featuring host Claudia Winkleman and the final five contestants. Similar reports emerged from viewers in New Zealand who briefly had access through ThreeNow. The premature release threatens to spoil the outcome for the millions of viewers eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the series, which has captivated audiences with its strategic gameplay and dramatic betrayals.

Despite the leak, many who have seen the finale are actively working to avoid spoiling it for others, with dedicated online communities offering to share details privately via direct message. One user on X, formerly Twitter, commented, “Not sure if this is a mistake or what, but in Canada we got the Celebrity Traitors UK finale on @CraveCanada a day before the UK does. I promise not to spoil it for you, Brits.” The show’s success has sparked a surge in popularity for the “social deduction” game genre, similar to games like Werewolf.

A BBC source issued a statement urging discretion, saying, “We kindly ask anyone who thinks they know the outcome of The Celebrity Traitors to keep whatever they believe they know to themselves. Please avoid sharing potential spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the series can enjoy the final this evening.” The finale is still scheduled to air on BBC One at 9pm today, November 7th.
