Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is well underway, according to recent statements from the game’s development team. The confirmation comes after a period of relative silence following the game’s initial announcement in 2023.

During a New Game+ Showcase, executive producer Julian Gerighty described the project as rapidly evolving. “The Division 3 is in development. That is no secret, it is already announced,” Gerighty stated. “It’s starting to become a monster. I can’t say too much about it yet, but we at Massive are working extremely hard on something that will have as much impact as the first The Division.”

The original The Division, released in 2016, became a significant title in the looter-shooter genre, blending online multiplayer with a compelling narrative set in a post-pandemic New York City. The success of the franchise has positioned Ubisoft Massive as a key player in the evolving landscape of connected gaming experiences.

While a firm release date remains undisclosed, the update signals continued investment in the The Division universe. In the meantime, The Division 2 is slated to receive a “Survivors” update later this year, introducing survival-focused gameplay elements and a return to a snow-covered Washington D.C.

A large poster featuring The Division: Definitive Edition was also reportedly spotted at a recent multiplayer event in Japan, further fueling anticipation among fans.
