The 22-year-old Vittek, a graduate of the Bratislava Conservatory, secured the role after an open audition process led by director Ján Ďurovčík, marking a meaningful moment for the rising star and the city’s burgeoning theater scene. Despite a physically demanding rehearsal schedule – evidenced by visible bruising documented on her social media – Vittek delivered a captivating performance that has already moved audiences to tears and solidified her position as a performer to watch.
BRATISLAVA – Thia Vittek is receiving widespread acclaim for her vocal performance in a new production of “Romeo and Juliet.” The rising star landed a leading role in the musical thanks to a chance offered by renowned director Ján Ďurovčík, and she delivered a performance that captivated audiences.
Despite her small stature, Vittek possesses a powerful voice that resonated throughout the theater on the musical’s premiere. Her singing drew enthusiastic applause from the crowd, moving her to tears. Following the performance, she shared a heartfelt embrace with Ďurovčík, a testament to his confidence in her abilities and her successful debut. “It’s definitely a dream come true, and I think you need to dream big, try things out, and see what happens… I would definitely like to go somewhere far away into the world,” Vittek shared, acknowledging years of hard work and expressing gratitude to her instructors.

Looking ahead to the holiday season, Vittek anticipates a period of rest and relaxation. “I’ll be lying down, sleeping, eating cakes, cabbage soup, and opening presents,” she said with a smile.
The question remains whether the busy schedule will allow for time with her partner.
