Tayrac That Tatman Targets Victory with “United Spirit” and “Jun Zhi Sheng”

Coming off a crucial victory aboard “Sword Without Emotion” on Sunday, April 6, 2026, jockey Tayrac That Tatman is looking to maintain his momentum. After enduring a seven-day winless streak, Tatman is now eyeing further success during the Happy Valley night races on Wednesday, April 9, 2026.

Despite a limited book of five rides for the upcoming card, Tatman has expressed his determination to keep his winning streak alive. He has identified two specific horses—”United Spirit” and “Jun Zhi Sheng”—as his primary chances for the night, both of whom have previously visited the winner’s circle under his guidance.

“United Spirit” Eyes Second Win of the Season

Competing in the seventh race, a Class 4 event over 1,200 meters, the Gui Fort-trained “United Spirit” is attempting to secure its second victory of the current campaign. The four-year-aged previously won over this course and distance in December and has followed that performance with two consecutive in-the-money finishes.

"United Spirit" Eyes Second Win of the Season

Tatman believes the horse is still improving, noting that while the December win was not effortless, the horse’s ability to stay competitive in the closing stages of recent races suggests there is more room for growth. With the horse in good form, a favorable weight assignment, and a field lacking many strong course-and-distance specialists, Tatman believes “United Spirit” can deliver a winning performance if it runs to its true potential.

Strong Partnership with “Jun Zhi Sheng”

In the fourth race, Tatman will partner with “Jun Zhi Sheng” in a Class 4 contest over 1,800 meters. The duo shares a strong rapport, having won together last season, and the horse recently secured a third-place finish with Tatman in the saddle.

Analyzing the horse’s strengths, Tatman highlighted that “Jun Zhi Sheng” is a consistent, steady-paced runner, making the tight bends and short straight of the Happy Valley track an ideal environment. With the horse’s rating now adjusted to a more competitive level and its form remaining stable, Tatman plans to employ an aggressive strategy. After a strong start, he intends to keep the horse in a prominent forward position to maximize its chances of a top result. Although the horse recently finished behind the sharp “Cheung Sing General,” Tatman noted that it finished nearly level with the runner-up, indicating it remains highly competitive.
