Tilsa Lozano revisited El valor de la verdad on Sunday, making a confession she’d avoided for over a decade: she regrets her romantic involvement with former soccer player Juan Manuel Vargas, despite his being married at the time.
“Today, at 42 years old, I wouldn’t make the same decisions, I wouldn’t believe the same sweet talk. I wouldn’t accept the same conditions. I’m not the same person,” she said at the start of the program, after answering “yes” to Beto Ortiz’s initial question: “Do you regret being in love with ‘Loco’ Vargas?”
Tilsa also discussed how her perspective on love has evolved. “Today, I see love differently. For me, love is peace; if you don’t give me peace, then no. Back then, love was adrenaline, crying, lies… No matter how many people defend their actions and have talked about this for 15 years, I think a lot of people can relate to me being foolish.”
Why Does Tilsa Regret Her Relationship with Vargas?
“I feel sorry for the Tilsa of that time and the situation everyone involved went through,” she confessed. “I don’t think anyone had a good time. I paid for my karma, and I paid it tenfold. I had to be on the other side. I think my level of empathy towards the other people in the story is different now.”
While she avoided naming names, Tilsa offered an apology to those affected by her relationship with the former soccer player, whom she met when he was married to Blanca Rodríguez. “At that time, I didn’t realize what a mother might feel… and I apologize.
