Toyota has officially begun sales of the Veloz Hybrid, a move signaling the automaker’s commitment to expanding its hybrid vehicle offerings in Southeast Asian markets. The launch comes after the vehicle’s global debut at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week in November 2025.

Pre-orders for the Veloz Hybrid opened earlier with prices ranging from Rp 299 million to Rp 390 million. The official pricing, announced this week, reflects only a slight increase from those initial estimates.

Toyota is also offering a special introductory price on the base Veloz Hybrid V model, reducing it by Rp 5 million to Rp 303 million.

“This special price for the Veloz Hybrid V will be available through the first half of the year,” stated Vice President of PT Toyota Astra Motor, Henry Tanoto.

The Veloz Hybrid is part of Toyota’s broader ‘Hybrid EV for All’ initiative, aimed at making electrified vehicles more accessible, efficient, and environmentally friendly while maintaining the brand’s reputation for comfort, durability, and functionality.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.5-liter 2NR-VEX engine with a Series-Parallel Hybrid system utilizing Toyota’s patented Power Split Device. This hybrid system delivers a combined output of 111 PS, with the gasoline engine contributing 91 PS at 5,500 rpm and the electric motor adding 80 PS. The design aims to provide a powerful yet quiet driving experience with seamless energy transitions.

Responding to customer feedback, the new Veloz Hybrid also includes enhancements to the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) suite, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which helps maintain a safe following distance by adjusting speed to match traffic flow.
