Toyota is set too discontinue production of internal combustion engine (ICE) versions of the Veloz in Indonesia, refocusing the popular multi-purpose vehicle exclusively on hybrid technology. The move, confirmed by PT Toyota motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), reflects a broader industry shift toward electrification and positions the Veloz as a key offering in Toyota’s hybrid lineup alongside the Avanza-which will continue with ICE options. Dealers are currently incentivizing the sale of remaining ICE Veloz inventory with discounts of up to Rp 30 million.

Toyota is streamlining its Veloz lineup, discontinuing internal combustion engine (ICE) versions and focusing exclusively on hybrid models. Dealers are currently working to sell off remaining ICE inventory.
Nandi Julyanto, President Director of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), confirmed the shift to an all-hybrid Veloz strategy.
“Veloz will now be exclusively hybrid. We are using the Veloz name for that specific model,” Julyanto stated at an event in ICE BSD City, Tangerang.

Jap Ernando Demily, Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), explained that the move is part of a broader product repositioning within the Low Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LMPV) segment. This strategy aims to encourage wider adoption of hybrid vehicles while continuing to serve customers who prefer gasoline-powered options through the Avanza.
“Currently, both options are available. The discontinuation of the non-hybrid Veloz is a strategic product decision. Customers seeking an ICE vehicle can still choose the Avanza, while the Veloz will represent our hybrid and electrification offerings,” Ernando said.
Veloz ICE models remain available at dealerships while supplies last, with sales staff focused on clearing existing stock.
“Discounts of up to Rp 30 million are being offered. We are simply working through the remaining inventory of non-hybrid Veloz models,” a Toyota salesperson noted.
The most affordable Veloz (non-hybrid) currently retails for Rp 297,2 million for the 1.5 M/T trim. With the Rp 30 million discount, the price falls to Rp 267,2 million.
The top-of-the-line Veloz 1.5 Q CVT TSS is currently priced at Rp 346,4 million. The discount brings the price of this trim down to Rp 316,4 million.
These substantial discounts provide a significant incentive for consumers looking for a modern, 7-seater MPV at a more accessible price point. Discount amounts may vary depending on dealer policies and unit availability.
The Veloz Hybrid made its official debut at the GJAW 2025 automotive event. During the show, PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) offered pre-booking prices for the Veloz Hybrid starting at Rp 299 million.

The move also allows Toyota to strategically position its models within the Indonesian market, offering distinct choices based on powertrain technology.
