Columbia Lands Three-Star Guard Trae Nunn in 2026 Recruiting Class

Columbia University has received a commitment from three-star guard Trae Nunn, who announced his decision yesterday via Instagram.

Nunn, a 6-foot-5 guard, cited Columbia head coach Kevin Hovde as a key factor in his choice. “Coach Hovde was definitely what made it a no brainer,” Nunn stated. “To have someone like him, who has accomplished a lot in college basketball, see me and believe in me was really special and the fact that he trusts me to come in and help rebuild the program right away was a big plus for me.”

The incoming freshman previously played for Overtime Elite and competed in the Puma PRO16 circuit, where he averaged 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Nunn also boasts an impressive 5.68 GPA, demonstrating a strong commitment to academics alongside athletics. Success in the NCAA often requires a balance of both.

This commitment is particularly significant for Columbia as they look to strengthen their position within the competitive Ivy League conference. The Lions are hoping Nunn’s arrival will contribute to a program resurgence. You can find more information about the Columbia Lions men’s basketball team on their official website.

Coaches anticipate Nunn will be a key contributor to the team’s future performance.
